My Kind of Town . . . . Chicago Is

The outstanding June 2023 joint Still Bank Convention in the Windy City reflects Frank Sinatra’s song, My Kind of Town. Per the song, “This is my kind of town, Chicago is.” The Chicago convention was a fun time with many interesting banks to see or purchase, places to visit and friends to converse with.…..my kind of town! The convention began with “room hopping” and the opportunity to sight see around Chicago. Thursday, some members chose to visit the spectacular Sanfilippo estate with the carousel pavilion. When you walk into the estate you are met with a grand staircase and hallways leading to the interior of the home. Whichever way you choose to go, you encounter a magnificent collection of antiques; whether they be music boxes of varying sizes and origin, uniquely designed Tiffany lamps or pipe organs collected from around the world. You can not help but be enchanted!
For those that took the challenge of climbing the spiral staircase, they were met with a view from the beautiful surrounding area. This is truly a place that piques the interest of all who visit.
Friday morning began with educational presentations by Dolli Kettron and Dr. Greg Zemenick (Dr. Z). . .
